Pay Research Unit

PRU was established in 1968 and is mainly responsible for collection, compilation and analysis of data of actual expenditure incurred on pay and various types of allowances as well as data pertaining to strength of the Central Government civilian employees and employees of the UT administration. An annual brochure giving statistical information regarding expenditure incurred by different Ministries/ Departments on pay and various allowances, staff strength details. The 30th issue of the brochure for the year 2007-08 was issued in September 2009.
